Yasuaki Miyazaki

Conservator

Born in Gunma, Japan, in 1964.

He graduated from the Sokei Art Academy in 1988. In the same year, he belonged to the Restoration Institute of the academy and began to restore artworks in earnest. In 2001, the institute changed from an educational corporation tothe Restoration Institute 21 LLC. He has engaged in the conservation of artworks in Keio University and other public museums and the restoration of paintings on the ceiling of the State Guest House, Akasaka Palace. He got the prize for restoration by Koyama Keizo Art Foundation and the overseas study award at the Gunma Youth Exhibition (now the Gunma Biennale for Young Artists). He reported on restoring the ceiling painting of the State Guest House (Room 41) in the Japan Society for the Conservation of Cultural Property.
