Kristian Jensen

Former Head of Collections and Curation, the British Library / Chair of the Consortium of European Research Libraries

Kristian Jensen was Head of Collections and Curation at the British Library until his retirement in November 2020. Before joining the British Library he worked in the Bodleian Library in Oxford.  With a degree from the University of Copenhagen, his academic background is Classics and History, and he holds a PhD in Aristotelian philosophy from the European University Institute in Florence.

He was a member of the Conseil scientifique of École nationale supérieure des sciences de l’information et des bibliothèques (2007-2013), Lyell reader in Bibliography at Oxford (2008), and visiting professor at the École des chartes (2009), President of the Bibliographical Society (2015-2018). Currently he is the Chair of the Consortium of European Research Libraries.
